who are you?

Do you know what you're not?
You're not your story. Even as you'd write it. You're not that. You're so much more than your story.
Sit two people down. The first is the person that you feel loves you the most.
The other is the person that hates you the most. Give them pen and paper and ask them to write your story.
Those will be two very different angles on the same person. Neither are true.
And your version? That's not you either. It's a one dimensional movie that does not represent properly at all.

So who are you if you're not your story. Not sure.
But you're not your body. A thousand generations of folks have handed you the genetic lucky bag that you walk around in.
It's the vehicle you've been handed.
I love doing this visualisation. Pick someone that you know for sure knows more about something than you do.
Something that you wish you knew more about.
I always imagine if I switched bodies with Tommy Emmanuel the virtuoso guitar player.
Well he would be in my body for ten minutes before he'd pick up a guitar and be making my hands do the incredible things he can do that I find hard.
Oh and while I'm on the subject.
If you gave Jimi Hendrix' guitar to Eddie Van Halen and visa versa . Jimi would still sound like Jimi and Eddie would still sound like Eddie. So.
It's not the guitar. It's not the body. It's the person inside side of the body.
Ok so. I'm not my story. I'm not my body. I'm nothing I own. Don't bother with the fast car and big house. We know it's not you.
You are not what you do.
For a second, imagine that you're on the other side of the room you're in.
Imagine looking back at yourself.
What do you think.
How is he doing. Is he happy? Can he lift his game? Should he relax?
More than anything you're the observer on the other side of the room. That's who. How are you?
